Belief. It determines everything we think, feel, and do from childhood to adulthood. The beliefs about who we are, where we have been, and where we are going. The beliefs we have about others. And the beliefs we hold in our subconscious mind that structure our actions and behaviors. Together, our beliefs are our world, our experience, our reality. This painting was one of the first I ever made, and it represents the unwavering fortitude of the self to emerge as a unified whole because of its belief in itself. As the lotus emerges at the surface, so does the self that believes in itself regardless of external influence.
